Mentors

Learn more about what it means to be a mentor for the Directed Reading Program.

Guidelines for Mentors

• Your proposed project can be either a directed reading course on a topic beyond the scope of your mentee's coursework or an        original research project.

• You may choose to mentor one-on-one or in a group setting.

• You should contact your mentee(s) at least once a week, and meet with them for an hour at least once every two weeks.

• Your mentee(s) should be working toward a presentation at the end of your project. This can be in a department seminar, undergraduate conference, or poster session.
